Day #351

Day #351Title: White Christmas
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I have been stupidly busy all day, and singularly uninspired when I did get five minutes to myself. So you’ll have to put up with a picture of my little white tree!

Day #218

Day #218Title: Contrasts
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes:
A now for something completely different… The contrast between this and yesterday’s shot struck me immediately. Today was grey, wet and miserable – the complete opposite of the vibrant sun we had 24 hours earlier. The sunflower was living, outdoors and colourful. These were silk, indoors and lit by the drab light of a north-facing window. I deliberately went for the high-key approach and overexposed the image – this is pretty much as it was straight out of the camera, apart from a slight crop. As this week’s theme is Red (which I’ve rather done to death on Day #88!), I was trying to emphasise the colour in the roses whilst bleaching out the net curtain behind.
