Notes: I stayed near Cambridge with friends last night, and decided to cut across country on the way home to see if I could find any pictures. As I was motoring down the A10 just south of Royston, I saw this meadow from the road. I was just cursing the lack of places to stop when a lay-by hove into view. A few yards back, I found a convenient gap in the hedge, but had to negotiate a steep ditch and a patch of stinging nettles – rueing the decision to wear cropped trousers – before I was able to get into the field. But it was worth it as this vista opened up.
