Title: Wembley Awayday
Location: Wembley, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8
Notes: I haven’t been to see a rugby game for a while now, so I was really looking forward to going to Wembley [a venue more commonly used for football or Rugby League] with rugby-loving friend Fiona to see Saracens vs Northampton Saints. Sarries normally play at Vicarage Road, Watford, so the visit to Wembley was quite a treat for us and the 44,830 other spectators who turned up! The first half was pretty mundane, but after what we can only assume was a good dressing room talking-to at half time, both teams came out in the second half with all guns blazing. Sarries managed to survive a late assault by the Saints and win the game 19-16. A great afternoon all round and an enjoyable 40@40 event. Unfortunately, I didn’t take my long lens as I wasn’t too sure if I would be able to take any pictures inside the stadium, so this was a quick grab shot of the half time entertainments with the 50mm lens.

Day #384

Title: The Captain Waits
Location: Vicarage Road, Watford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 75-300mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I spent the day with my friend Sheila doing another of my “40 Things With 40 Friends” – part of my year-long birthday celebrations. We went to see Saracens beat Viadana 36-19 in the afternoon, and spend the evening chatting and drinking some lovely fizz. A great way to keep the 40@40 ball rolling.
