Day #702 Title: Cabaret!
Location: Roundhouse, Camden
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: After dodging torrential rain this afternoon travelling to and from a client meeting, I met up with good friend Julian for the evening. We had a lovey Thai dinner in Camden and then went to La Clique cabaret at The Roundhouse. An excellent show featuring jugglers, terrible magicians, acrobats and all-round performers. We weren’t really supposed to take pictures, but I managed to sneak this one quickly during the encoure. Another lovely 40@40 event.

Day #697 Title: Two Blue Bags
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: This afternoon, I had to pop into town to go to the bank and run a few errands. I took a few shots in the High Street and waited for various characters to walk into the frame. As soon as I saw this lady with her two back-lit carrier bags, I knew I had the picture of the day.

Day #630 Title: A Pint In The Sun
Location: The Viper, Mill Green
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: This morning was a little damp and grey, but by lunchtime the weather had perked up. I had arranged to meet a friend for lunch to catch up, as she has been away travelling in the Far East for 9 weeks. We decided to head to The Viper for a bite to eat, and found this relaxed old gent sitting outside enjoying his pint in the sun.

Day #607 Title: Geeks Play Trains
Location: London Colney
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Alistair had organised the Geek Steem BBQ for this afternoon, which basically involved about a dozen geeks turning up at the North London Society of Model Engineers and playing with their outdoor train sets for hours. Plus incinerating things on the BBQ. We had a great time, and even got to drive some of the trains. Here, you see The Hodge being let loose on the electric train – Alistair looks remarkably happy about being his first passenger of the day!

Day #593 Title: Double Trouble
Location: Cheveley, Suffolk
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: This cheeky pair were flower girls at a friends’ wedding. I didn’t take too many images, but this one summed up the day very nicely – the happy couple are in the background along with the Best Man. We had a great time celebrating with them, a most enjoyable day. I don’t get to see Andy & Hannah very often, so this will have to be my 40@40 event with them for this year.

Day #578 Title: Auf Wiedersehen Dirk & Cotta
Location: De Hems, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I was supposed to have a 40@40 with Dirk & Cotta a few months ago. We even bought tickets to go and see a game of rugby, but we had to cancel at the last minute due to illness. And the weeks ticked by. As often happens, you think you will put things off and do them soon. Then Dirk got offered a job in San Francisco and would be leaving London, and we realised that we had pretty much run out of time to see each other properly. So this will have to do for my 40@40 with them – at their London leaving drinks this evening. We did get to chat for a while, along with them having to see loads of other people who had turned up to wish them luck. You’ll be missed, guys, please keep in touch! So I guess the moral of the story is: Carpe Diem – Sieze The Day.

Day #522Title: Café Rouge
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Another day of rain, and being confined to the house stuck in front of the computer. In the evening, I went to meet a friend in town for a bite to eat. We managed to sit in the same café for ten minutes and miss each other before we finally realised where the other was! D’uh!
