Day #714 Title: Dusk Over Hylands
Location: Widford, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After being cooped up writing documentation for much of the day, I nipped out for a little while this afternoon to chase the sunset. This was from Widford Church, looking west over Hylands Park – a nice spot for sunset watching.

Day #696 Title: Canal Sunset
Location: Paper Mill Lock, Little Baddow
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I spent the morning doing lots of server admin type jobs such as backing up databases, upgrading WordPress and making sure files were backed up. By early afternoon, I was going a bit stir-crazy and headed out to the canal at Little Baddow to catch the last of the decent light. Sorry its rather similar to yesterday’s picture, albeit a different location.

Day #667 Title: Evening Glow
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Another day where the light was best right at the end. This was a shot on Galleywood Common as I made my way home from a meeting. I liked the warm glow and misty recession in the distance.

Day #660 Title: October Evening
Location: Ingatestone
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I was on my way to a friend’s house for dinner when I noticed this amazing light on the horizon. It was quite a surprise to see as it had been grey and miserably wet for most of the day. A welcome chink of light at sunset.

Day #658 Title: Sunset Over The Irish Sea
Location: Blackpool
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: This morning dawned rather cloudy, and once we had checked out of our hotel, Alistair and I decided to go for a ride on the trams – after all, you can’t come to Blackpool without having a go. We spent most of the day roaming about and got as far as Cleveley, then walked some of the way back into the centre of Blackpool finding some more geocaches. On the way, the weather perked up and blue skies returned. Then we had a bite to eat and realised it was about time for sunset. It was pretty spectacular again – worth waiting around for – despite that meaning I didn’t catch a train until nearly 7pm and got home just before midnight.

Day #602 Title: Emerging From The Clouds
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I had my head buried in the laptop all day and came up for air around 7pm. I decided to nip out for a quick caching trip locally, and caught the sun sneaking out from behind the cloudbank as I looked west towards Hylands Park.

Day #592 Title: Maize Silhouettes
Location: Terling, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Alistair and I spent an enjoyable afternoon on a 5.5 mile geocaching walk around Terling today. There were some lovely landscapes to be seen, but this striking image of the maize silhouettes was the one I liked best.
