Day #1090

Posted by Caz on Saturday, 25th December 2010

Day #1090Title: Christmas Vista
Location: Elham, Kent
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After a leisurely breakfast and putting the bird in the oven, we decided to take a walk around the countryside. The snow was still laying quite thick on the ground, even if the roads were very icy. This was a view across the Elham Valley from the hills to the north. After a bit of yomping about we returned home to prepare the veg and welcome some more guests to the party.

Day #1079Title: Afternoon Shadows
Location: White’s Bridge, Margaretting
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I managed to tear myself away from the office for half an hour this afternoon to catch the lovely long shadows and glancing winter light across the fields at White’s Bridge. A bit of drama in the sky behind was an added bonus.

Day #1076Title: The Broken Tree
Location: Galleywood
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Despite some reasonable light today, I seemed unable to get any decent images. It just wasn’t happening. This was taken on a walk to scout some locations for next year’s Scenic Location monthly shot, but I wasn’t enamoured with any of them, to be honest.

Day #1067Title: London Hill – December
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: The final shot in my year-long visit to London Hill for Treasure Hunt Theme #12 – Scenic Location. And what could be more fitting than weather to echo the snows from January?

Day #1053Title: The Old Toll Bridge
Location: Shoreham-by-Sea
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After last night’s evening at Steyning Camera Club, I was very glad of the hospitality of Malcolm and his wife Guida, which meant I avoided a 90-mile drive home in the dark. This morning, I took the opportunity to enjoy some time with Ken over coffee and a bacon sandwich in Shoreham-by-Sea. Conversations with Ken are always thought-provoking, not just about photography but about philosophy and life in general. We decided to take a little stroll to walk off the bacon and arrived at the Old Toll Bridge (actually not so old, as it was completely refurbished in 2008) just as this gent was walking his dog across it.

Day #1031Title: London Hill – October
Location: Galleywood
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Getting close to the end of the month again, so I went to London Hill for this month’s shot. I’m a bit disappointed that none of the leaves appear to be turning yet. This time I thought I would show it to you without any traffic. Anyway, another shot for Treasure Hunt Theme 10 – Scenic Location – October.

Day #1016Title: Sundown At White’s Bridge
Location: Margaretting
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I enjoyed giving my talk this evening on 1000+ Days of Photography to Upminster Camera Club. On the way to pick up a friend who wanted to come along, I stopped at White’s Bridge to take a quick shot of the setting sun over the Wid Valley.
