Day #1416 Title: Holding It Together
Location: ARU, Chelmsford
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: I might as well come right out with it – I hate November! I always feel low and depressed and the weather is usually rubbish too. We’ve had some grey old days so far this month. So a little burst of sunshine was very welcome today. I was at a business seminar at Anglia Ruskin University, run by Chelmsford Borough Council. This was a piece of sculpture I found during quick lunchtime stroll on the campus in between some excellent sessions on motivation – just the kick up the backside I needed! I felt this was a good omen – so one for Treasure Hunt Theme #49 – Good.

Day #1310 Title: London
Location: Maldon
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: I went to Paper Mill Lock, then Maldon this evening to test out my new 10-22mm lens. There were plenty of interesting nautical subjects to be seen, after I’d enjoyed a fish & chip supper at the Hythe. This old marker buoy caught my eye. It’s engraved with Trinity House – London and a number. Isolating the city name seemed to make it rather incongruous in its surroundings. I thought it would do for Treasure Hunt Theme #39 – An Object out of Context.

Day #1304 Title: Bolted
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: A quick shot at the Chelmsford & Essex Museum this afternoon, after a meeting nearby. This is part of the cannon on display in the grounds, commemorating the Battle of Sevastapol in 1855.
