Day #1725 Title: The Future’s Here
Location: Fuji TV Buidling, Kōtō, Tokyo, Japan
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: Today I went in search of modern Tokyo. My first location was the Tokyo Tower, up to the observation deck for a look around. Lunch was eaten in an excellent noodle bar here too. Then I walked around Shiba Park which surrounds the Zojo-ji Temple complex on my way to the Tokyo Bay development. I took the equivalent of the Docklands Light Railway and explored on foot at various locations. I got to sit in the front seat of the driver-less trains, so had a good view of where I was going! There are plenty of examples of modern architecture to be seen, many as striking as this – the Fuji TV Building at Daiba, by renowned Japanese architect Kenzo Tange. I met up with Tomoo again this evening so he could help me buy my ticket for the Shinkansen excursion we are planning on Saturday. And to have some tasty dinner in one of the fast food restaurants at Tokyo station, before he headed home to Maebashi. Read more about my day.
