Day #2919Title: Last Resting Place
Location: Rettenden, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I popped over to Rettenden this afternoon for a quick walk. I explored the church yard and found these lazy-looking grave stones resting against the wall to the farm next door, which had an odd blanked-out window.

Day #2909Title: The Village Sign
Location: Blackmore, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: The village green in Blackmore has a rather nice sign showing the Church tower, which I spotted today during a brief walk.

Location: South Green, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I spotted these while out for a walk this afternoon. I wonder if someone’s had a new house for Christmas? Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #27 – Gift Wrapped.

Day #2907Title: The Breakout
Location: Fyfield, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: My ongoing Retro 365 project has been visiting various Essex Churches beginning with letters of the alphabet. The one outstanding was FYfield (for Y, there being nowhere in Essex beginning with Y which also has a church). I went there today after (finally!) getting my car back from the garage. This grave is in the churchyard and made me wonder WHO is getting out…?

Day #2897Title: Undertones
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Another underpass for you today, one I encountered twice while out walking today. The car’s decided to die again so I’m back to Shanks’ Pony for the moment. Argh!

Day #2896Title: The Romans Were Here
Location: Colchester, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today I was in the historic town of Colchester, which dates back to pre-roman times. It’s where I grew up – Colchester, not pre-Roman times! Anyway, the weather wasn’t up to much, so I chose this colourful detail, a reminder of the town’s history, seen on the walls of one of the underpasses below Southway.

Day #2894Title: The Roof Is Leaking
Location: Ashingdon, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I came across this poor, dilapidated specimen while having a walk in Ashingdon. The place doesn’t look like it can be saved – several walls were shored up with props, the bay windows were leaning backwards and there were warning signs all over the place saying “keep out” – I wasn’t about to disobey!
