Day #3285

Day #3285Title: Images From The Garden – December
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Lensbaby Composer Pro / 50 mm f/2 Double Glass Optic / x4 Close Up Filter
Notes: I’ve had just one Treasure Hunt theme outstanding for a while now, the December garden shot. Until today, it’s been looking rather lacklustre and I haven’t felt very compelled to find a picture. But this morning it was foggy and super frosty, so I ventured out with the Lensbaby to make this dreamy shot of the overgrown grasses on my lawn! Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #12 – December Monthly Project.

Day #3280Title: Festive Berries
Location: South Woodham Ferrers, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Lensbaby Trio 28mm f/3.5 (Sweet/Velvet/Twist)
Notes: I spotted these festive berries on a hawthorn bush I was frisking while looking for a geocache.. It had seme fearsome thorns, so I had to treat it with respect. But eventually I found the cache, then photographed the berries – two jobs done for the price of one!

Day #3259Title: In A Huff
Location: Rayleigh, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: I went to Rayleigh today for a walk, and was about to get back into the car when I spotted these leaves on the ground. The lens cap of my camera had previously been in my pocket and had had condensation on the inside, which then transferred to the lens filter when I put it back on a few minutes previously. So when I opened it again the lens filter was covered in a fine mist. It liked the effect and took the photo anyway. Things weren’t very even, so I “huffed” on the lens deliberately to get a better covering. Who needs post-processing when you can do it all in camera?

Day #3257Title: Does A Leaf Make A Sound When It Falls?
Location: Billericay, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Lensbaby Trio 28mm f/3.5 (Sweet/Velvet/Twist)
Notes: I went for a stroll around Lake Meadows in Billericay this afternoon. There I spotted this leaf, quietly resting on the mossy trunk of a fallen tree. I wondered if it had made a sound as it landed. This time, I liked the Twist optic best, which exhibits angular twist at the edges, mimicking the classic Peztval effect.

Day #3235Title: Fallen Giant
Location:  Thorndon Country Park, Brentwood
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GH3 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I had a lovely walk in Thorndon Country Park today. The leaves were spectacular and this huge tree made a great focal point for the image.

Day #3228Title: Images From The Garden – November
Location:  At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GH3 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I thought I would get my garden shot done quickly this month. It looks like the unfortunate aftermath of Halloween, blood dripping down the fence from the leaves! Spooky.

Day #3199Title: Watched By Bovines
Location: Radlett, Hertfordshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: I’m not keen on cows and tend to avoid them at all costs. When I suspect I will encounter bovines on footpaths I usually turn back and try to find an alternative. However, there were cows today, but there was a comforting fence between them and the footpath. I found a geocache by their gate, so I was greeted by this reception committee who blundered over to say hello, but they thankfully stayed at a respectful distance. A good shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #39 – Hello.
