Day #3342Title: There’s Always A Lamp
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Lots more jobs to do today, confined to home. With Storm Doris about, I’m glad I didn’t have to go out anywhere. It got to later this evening and I still hadn’t made a picture, so I turned to my new lamp – There’s Always A Lamp. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #42 – Lamplight.

Day #3314Title: Dusk In Dystopia
Location: Barbican, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: Several members of my Daily 365 group of Flickr have recently posted some rather effective landscape images with a touch of Intentional Camera Movement. I’ve not seen many landscape opportunities for my own pictures which would suit ICM, but today I was inspired to have a go at some shots in an urban environment. I was in London for an evening meeting and around dusk, when the lights are all coming on, is a great time to wave the camera around. This image was one of many taken from the Lakeside Terrace at the Barbican, looking across the water towards the little church of St. Giles, Cripplegate, dwarfed and surrounded by modernist high rise buildings on three sides. I thought the final picture looked rather like the fictional dystopian Gotham City, which seems to be coming alive before our eyes, across a rather bigger pond.

Day #3300Title: First Fall
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GH3 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I admit I was sceptical earlier in the week when the forecast threatened snow, but this evening, almost exactly on cue, the sound of rain petered out and an eerie silence fell. I looked out of the window about half an hour later to see a blanket of around 2cm of snow. We haven’t seen any in these parts since February 2015 (when I last photographed it on Day #2591). This is my Japanese Snow Lantern by the light of next door’s security light (it was already dark by the time the flakes began falling). I thought I would make it today’s milestone picture for 3300 consecutive days, as it might have melted by the morning!
