Day #3362Title: Psychedelic Trauma
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was playing with my LED lights again this evening. Then I did some faffing about in Photoshop to give something a little different.

Day #3350Title: Ghost Behind The Curtain
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: It got past 11pm and I realised I hadn’t made any photos today. So I decided on a quick waft in the dark with a strip of LEDs. I didn’t notice myself until it came time to process them – and actually I quite liked to see me lurking in the background. I love the fluidity of the bendy LED strip here, it looks like folds in a curtain.

Day #3341Title: Amplitude
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Another day mainly doing jobs at home. I decided I should have another play with my lightpainting gear this evening – having just bought a 2m x 2m black fluffy throw to use as a totally dark background this afternoon. I can now set up the camera in the bedroom (the longest room in the house which I can make totally dark) and waft away with my torches and lights, even if the weather is cold and wet outside. This one was made with my LED fibre optic lamp, which changes colour gradually over a period of 10-20 seconds.

Day #3330Title: Electric Pom-Pom
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 45mm f2.8 Leica DG Macro-Elmarit ASPH
Notes: I had another play with the LED lights this evening, this time they were static and I moved the camera about. I liked the effect with this one, which I thought looked like an electric pom-pom waving about.

Day #3329Title: Atomic
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 7-14mm f/4 Lumix G Vario
Notes: It’s ages since I made any physiograms, so I thought it was about time I had another go today, especially as the weather was awful and I didn’t fancy venturing out earlier in the day. This was a 256 second exposure, covering the lens and changing the gels on the torch to give four different colours. It’s straight out of camera. The GX8 takes a while to do its noise-reduction processing after you have made a very long exposure, but it’s worth the wait – can’t see any noise in the blacks at all! It’s interesting to see where the orbits take a little wobble and get knocked out of true – I think there was a slight snag on the dangly fixing, but I quite like the effect anyway. I thought it would make a great shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #65 – Swing.
