Day #3532

Day #3532Title: Pipework Gubbins
Location: Rawreth, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Alistair and I had a great walk around some footpaths in Rawreth today. We found this valve arrangement just to the side of a railway bridge. No idea what it did, but I liked the contrast in textures here. Mono worked well.

Location: Belfairs Park, Essex
Camera: Apple iPhone 5s / Rear Lens, 29mm f/2.2 equivalent
Notes: I didn’t make many images today, and the best one was this, taken with my phone… Oh well, it will have to do.

Day #3492Title: Scrolls & Shadows
Location: Horndon-on-the-Hill, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I met some friends for a quick geocaching event in Horndon-on-the-Hill today. Not somewhere I had ever been before. This interesting architectural detail was mounted on the side of one of the houses in the village. It was rather odd – a bit like a random bedhead, attached for no readily apparent reason!

Day #3460Title: Inner Workings
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 45mm f2.8 Leica DG Macro-Elmarit ASPH
Notes: I do love Lego® and I’m a space geek. It’s no surprise that when I saw the new Lego® Ideas NASA Saturn V rocket, I knew I would succumb. I’ve spent a happy day putting it together and avoiding doing the household chores! This was one of the inner sections which gives it great strength – although from the outside, you would never know it was there.

Day #3373Title: Four Arched Windows
Location: Copford, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I went to visit Mum & Dad today but left home a bit early so that I could find a few geocahes along the way. I stopped off in Copford where I found these unusual arched windows making a rather attractive architectural shot. And perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #14 – Arches.

Day #3346Title: Descent Into Mud
Location: Heybridge Basin, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario Power OIS
Notes: I haven’t been to Heybridge Basin for a while, but visited this afternoon with a friend. The sea lock is being renovated and the lock gates are being replaced, so the lock was drained, which revealed this thick gloopy mud at the bottom.

Day #3294Title: The Lego Church
Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: I had a meeting at BBC Elstree today, and arrived to find the sun shining and blue sky all around. I pass this church, (St. Theresa of the Child Jesus RC) on the way from the car park to the main site, and have noticed it on other visits but never stopped to take a picture. Its distinctive, boxy architecture, with those high pitched rooves, reminds me of the Lego constructions I built as a child. Anyway, it was good job I got a picture this morning, since by the time I finished this afternoon it was dark and raining.
