Day #3414Title: In Memoriam
Location: North Ockendon, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: This morning was a bit grey and overcast, but I stopped off to find a geocache at the Church in North Ockendon before heading into work from Upminster tube. These colourful silk flowers brightened up the scene.

Day #3392Title: Holy Trinity Bengeo
Location: Bengeo, Hertfordshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I had fun today geocaching with mad friend Ian. We went to Hertfordshire and then Buckinghamshire to collect some caches we had both wanted to visit. On the way we passed this lovely old church in Bengeo, where there was a film pot lurking – one of over 10,000 “Church Micro” geocaches alive in the world.

Day #3384Title: La Maison De Dieu!
Location: Audinghen, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: On Tuesday, the day after my new passport arrived, I made a snap decision to have a little trip to France and Belgium to do some geocaching, as I’d never visited either country since starting to look for tupperware. So I booked a very last minute trip and found myself on the Le Shuttle today, finally making it onto French soil around tea time (there were a few things I needed to do before leaving home, and then there was a tedious hour and a half delay in the crossing). I headed along the French coast towards Cap Gris Nez and found myself at this remarkable little church, Eglise Saint Pierre d’Audinghen. It was rebuilt in 1960 after being destroyed by allied bombing during World War II. The first striking thing is its huge concrete open bell tower in the shape of a lyre – which is what initially made me stop to take a look around. The porch is illuminated by this wonderful stained glass verse from Matthew VII. The sun was catching the letters at just the right angle to throw some fantastic coloured shadows on the paving. There was even a cache by the gate! Perfect. I knew it had to be picture of the day.

Day #3380Title: Stow Maries Spire
Location: Stow Maries, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: This afternoon I went for a walk around some footpaths near Stow Maries. The church was a convenient place to park and this view of the rather quaint building was what I saw as I headed off across some nearby paddocks en route to the old railway line, which is now a nature reserve.

Day #3375Title: Mirror On The World
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I walked into Chelmsford today to run a few errands. The steely grey sky was a good foil for the aluminium skin on the Sally Army Citadel and tree reflected in the window along Parkway. And then a grey car came along too! Perfect.

Day #3337Title: Snowdrops In The Sunshine
Location: Ulting, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Lensbaby 5.8mm Fisheye
Notes: After another busy day sorting things out at home and taking a car full of stuff to the recycling centre, I headed to Ulting for a few photos, as it was only a short detour. The snowdrops are out in the churchyard, and I decided to get down low with my Lensbaby fisheye lens, which gives lots of lovely internal lens flare.
