Day #3390Title: Dash Cam
Location: Around Elstree, Hertfordshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was on a late shift today, moving the equipment we need for the Local Elections from our technical stores in Elstree to Millbank in central London. This involved four of us loading up a transit van and dragging it into town, then unloading again. There were multiple delays, including traffic chaos caused by a big fire at Staples Corner – not on our direct route, but the knock-ons of everyone else being diverted put us at least an hour behind schedule. This is my view from the front passenger seat of the van as we were finally on our way. We finished at Millbank at just after 10pm and another delay on the trains meant I didn’t get home until just before midnight. All very tedious!

Day #3314Title: Dusk In Dystopia
Location: Barbican, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: Several members of my Daily 365 group of Flickr have recently posted some rather effective landscape images with a touch of Intentional Camera Movement. I’ve not seen many landscape opportunities for my own pictures which would suit ICM, but today I was inspired to have a go at some shots in an urban environment. I was in London for an evening meeting and around dusk, when the lights are all coming on, is a great time to wave the camera around. This image was one of many taken from the Lakeside Terrace at the Barbican, looking across the water towards the little church of St. Giles, Cripplegate, dwarfed and surrounded by modernist high rise buildings on three sides. I thought the final picture looked rather like the fictional dystopian Gotham City, which seems to be coming alive before our eyes, across a rather bigger pond.
