Day #3376Title: The Brexit Circus Comes To Town
Location: College Green, Westminster, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Wednesday meas work in Westminster again. And today was the tragic day for the UK when PM Theresa May initiated the Article 50 Brexit process in Parliament. I had to walk past College Green to get to Millbank and had never seen so many “media circus” tents pitched so that the reporters can be filmed with the Palace of Westminster as a backdrop (behind me in the photos). What a depressing day.

Day #3355Title: TMA-19M
Location: Science Museum, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: We went to London today, primarily for an event taking place this evening, but we decided to catch the train around lunch time so we could spend the afternoon in the Science Museum’s Robots exhibition. It was all about the history of robotics, which was very interesting. We also took the time to have a look in some of the other galleries, and made a special effort to find ESA Astronaut Tim Peake’s Soyuz capsule, TMA-19M, which has recently been added to the collection. The tiny capsule took him to the ISS and back during his historic Principia mission last year. Both Alistair and I are space geeks, so we spent quite a bit of time having a look at it. This is the view into the capsule through the navigation porthole. It made a perfect shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #28 – Exhibition.

Day #3352Title: Shadow Play – March
Location: East Dulwich, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: I went to meet friends for lunch in East Dulwich today. I was fully expecting to get wet, given the weather forecast. But I managed to dodge the heavy rain. Just as I arrived the sun even came out – so I was able to make my monthly Shadow Play shot before heading for the restaurant. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #3 – March Monthly Project.

Day #3314Title: Dusk In Dystopia
Location: Barbican, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: Several members of my Daily 365 group of Flickr have recently posted some rather effective landscape images with a touch of Intentional Camera Movement. I’ve not seen many landscape opportunities for my own pictures which would suit ICM, but today I was inspired to have a go at some shots in an urban environment. I was in London for an evening meeting and around dusk, when the lights are all coming on, is a great time to wave the camera around. This image was one of many taken from the Lakeside Terrace at the Barbican, looking across the water towards the little church of St. Giles, Cripplegate, dwarfed and surrounded by modernist high rise buildings on three sides. I thought the final picture looked rather like the fictional dystopian Gotham City, which seems to be coming alive before our eyes, across a rather bigger pond.
