Day #3396

Day #3396Title: Dark Skies And Looming Clouds
Location: Woodbridge, Suffolk
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I enjoyed a great day out geocaching around Woodbridge today. It’s not somewhere I had visited much in the past, but there were plenty of boxes to search for. This landscape was enhanced by the dramatic cloudscape above.

Day #3389Title: Dare To Be Different
Location: Hazeleigh, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was exploring a different part of the disused South Woodham Ferrers to Maldon railway line this afternoon, around Hazeleigh. I liked this avenue of trees, but liked the fact that one of them was wonky even better!

Day #3372Title: Whispy Clouds And Branches
Location: Langdon Hills Country Park, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today’s outing was to the Langdon Hills Country Park for a great geocaching walk. The sun shone and the wispy clouds provided some interest against the silhouetted trees.

Day #3343Title: The Clouds Are Looming
Location: Bocking Church Street, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: I went looking for a few geocaches around Bocking Church Street and other little villages north of Braintree today. The sun was in and out, and the grey clouds moved sluggishly across the sky. I managed to catch a patch of sunshine on the fields here.

Day #3337Title: Snowdrops In The Sunshine
Location: Ulting, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Lensbaby 5.8mm Fisheye
Notes: After another busy day sorting things out at home and taking a car full of stuff to the recycling centre, I headed to Ulting for a few photos, as it was only a short detour. The snowdrops are out in the churchyard, and I decided to get down low with my Lensbaby fisheye lens, which gives lots of lovely internal lens flare.

Day #3326Title: Kingfisher Country
Location: Paper Mill Lock, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 100-300mm f4.0-5.6 Lumix G Vario Power OIS
Notes: A (small) Big Stopper (ND 3.0) arrived in the post today, to fit my Panasonic zoom lenses. An unexpected burst of sunshine this afternoon prompted me to rush over to Paper Mill Lock to try it out on some slow water shots. Having made a few I was pleased with, I took a walk further along the canal and came across a Twitcher stalking a bird across the water with an enormous Canon lens. It was a Kingfisher. It soon flew off and landed on some branches not far from me. I hastily changed to my longest zoom (a 600mm equivalent at the long end) just as the sun came out again, making it pop from the background. Wow. I was so pleased. I’ve never seen one before. Just yesterday, I made a comment on a Flickr friend’s Kingfisher photo that I would love to even see one, let alone take a picture. And less than 24 hours later, it happens! Perhaps I should wish for things more often!
