The Scent Of Wild GarlicTitle: The Scent Of Wild Garlic
Location: Urpeth, County Durham
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: We went on another long geocaching walk today, this time on a loop around the village of Urpeth near Chester-le-Street. The terrain was varied and followed the Team Valley for some of the route. There was plenty of wildlife to be seen, and the scent of wild garlic accompanied us on much of the walk in the wooded areas. Read more about today’s Rural Ramble.

SluggishTitle: Sluggish
Location: Quayside, Newcastle
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: Alistair and I went on a 21-mile bike ride today to Newburn and back, along both banks of the Tyne. The weather when we set off was grey and grainy, just like this picture of The Sage across the water in Gateshead. It’s known locally as The Shiny Slug. I was feeling pretty sluggish by the time we rode back into town! My poor legs…

Life's A BeachTitle: Life’s A Beach
Location: North East Aircraft Museum, Sunderland
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: We spent the afternoon with friends from the Newcastle Photo Walk group at the North East Aircraft Museum near Sunderland. The place is branching out and also has a few old trams on display, as well as military vehicles. This is a detail from one of the Blackpool Pleasure Beach trams which sits outside the main hangar. Hard ShadowsTitle: Hard Shadows
Location: Royal Quays Marina, Newcastle
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: With a beautifully sunny day, there were plenty of shadows around. We enjoyed a long cycle ride to Tynmouth and back and these shadows were creeping over the dockside at Royal Quays Marina.
