January ’10 Review

Posted by Caz on Tuesday, 2nd February 2010

After a very cold and snowy start to the month, the weather has been reasonable, and I have been able to get out and about with the camera quite a lot.

I’ve enjoyed using my new Panasonic Lumix GF1, it seems to be an ideal everyday camera and performs well in all sorts of conditions.

I was pleased with the images I made in Sussex and at the Urban Abstracts workshop, and continued the abstract theme when I went with our local Flickr group for a walk around Chelmsford:

Urban Abstracts Workshop

Posted by Caz on Monday, 1st February 2010

Another event I really enjoyed this past weekend was a workshop run by the PhotoSocialise group on Flickr, entitled Urban Abstracts. We were treated to an excellent talk first thing by group member Stephen,  who discussed the things such as colour, texture, light, reflections and shapes which we should think about when making abstract images. Then we were let out for a couple of hours around central London, to take some pictures, before coming back for an appraisal of our work.

Here are a few pictures I made, which form the basis of my Urban Abstracts Gallery.
