We had a roam around Writtle this evening with the GNPC photowalk folks. It was a pleasant walk and convivial company at the pub afterwards too. But before we ended up boozing we did visit the Church and make some interesting images inside. Here are the rest too.

We had a lovely day out in Maldon today at the Bikes and Barges event down on the Quayside. There were plenty of shiny machines to photograph, great company, sunny weather and fun people to watch.
Photographically it was also very productive. I was able to chat to two more strangers for my project, #29 Tony and #30 Ross. There were mono details which caught my eye and the latest 50 @ 50 (2013) #26, as well as the best picture of Day #2008.
Here is the whole set from the day:
The Chelmsford Flickr Photowalk group enjoyed a cold but sunny outing to Coalhouse Fort this afternoon for an open day and display of military history. These two could have made it for Day #1945:
I particularly liked a bendy tree in mono, but here you can see the rest of the images from the day:
I went to Southend-on-Sea today to make the most of the sunny weather, meeting up with some friends from GNPC for a street shoot. We wandered about along the promenade for a few hours enjoying the sunshine – at last it feels like Spring! A shelter along the Prom made it for Day #1938; I also chose a biker for my Mono post today. Here are some more favourites:
And here are the rest from the day:
Due to atrocious weather, we had to cancel the April walk, and so this one is the next in the line from the March event.
It was a very hot afternoon, but a cooling onshore breeze at Heybridge Basin meant we didn’t cook. Having pottered next to the canal for a bit, and had a refreshing drink, we decided to take a little cruise along the water for an hour. It wasn’t particularly fruitful for pictures, but we were in the shade and there was some enjoyable banter amongst the passengers.
After disembarking, we took a wander up to the lock and estuary, following the sea wall north for half a mile before heading back inland. Not the most strenuous of outings, but it was good to see Adrian and Cy again.
