Day #243

Day #243Title: Brent
Location: Quayside, Maldon
Camera: Franke & Heidecke Rolleiflex T1 / Tessar 75mm f/3.5
Film: Ilford FP4 125
Notes: Alistair and I went for a damp walk around Maldon again today. We needed some fresh air. Steam Tug Brent is a familiar sight moored on the Quayside. There is a Trust set up which is trying to raise enough funds to have her restored and sailing again for the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings in 2019.

Day #241Title: William Wordsworth
Location: Geek Steam BBQ, Colney Heath
Camera: Franke & Heidecke Rolleiflex T1 / Tessar 75mm f/3.5
Film: Ilford FP4 125
Notes: I always enjoy a trip to the Geek Steam BBQ. This year’s was no exception. As well as us geeks, the North London Society of Model Engineers also hosted a visiting club who brought along some of their own engines to have a play on the track. This is a fine model of Britannia Pacific No. 70030 4-6-2  William Wordsworth, which provided rides for us during the afternoon. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #50 – Visitors.

Day #240Title: All Saints, Messing
Location: Messing, Essex
Camera: Franke & Heidecke Rolleiflex T1 / Tessar 75mm f/3.5
Film: Ilford FP4 125
Notes: Another church to visit today, for my Essex Churches A-Z. All Saints, Messing has a fine square tower. I enjoyed using the Rolleiflex again – it’s been sitting on the shelf since mid-June.

Day #239Title: Moored At The Jetty
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Camera: Foth Derby II / Foth Anastigmat 50mm f/3.5
Film: Rera Pan 100
Notes: I went to Southend today to drop off some films to be developed by John Salim – he’s done quite a few rolls for me now and is always very efficient and quick to turn them around. I finished off this roll along the seafront before taking it to him with the others. Less in evidence here is the Foth’s rotational issues, but instead we get lots of stripes. Hey ho!

Day #238Title: On The Golf Course
Location: Woodham Walter, Essex
Camera: Foth Derby II / Foth Anastigmat 50mm f/3.5
Film: Rera Pan 100
Notes: This evening’s outing had to wait for the rain to ease off, but once it was dry I headed to Woodham Walter for a little stroll to audit some footpath for The Big Pathwatch. One section took me along the edge of The Warren Golf Club. Once again, the Derby’s quirky rotation-and-double-exposure-type-effect has given this shot a unique feel.

Day #237Title: The Face On The Gate
Location: Great Baddow, Essex
Camera: Foth Derby II / Foth Anastigmat 50mm f/3.5
Film: Rera Pan 100
Notes: I spotted this curious little chap during a footpath survey in Great Baddow. The Derby’s quirky rotation effect is less evident here, but the leaky bellows are much in evidence! Gotta love a bit of grunge…
