Day #311

Day #311Title: Wet Pavements
Location: Lincoln’s Inn Fields
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I spent the day in London visiting former colleagues for lunch, and then at another friend’s studio during the afternoon to take some images for possible use as Christmas cards. Sadly, the results weren’t partcularly good – we completely failed to light a pudding – and our painting-with-light efforts turned out a bit paltry. Then I went to the London Photographers’ Meetup Group drinks in The Strand for a couple of hours this evening. This image was taken on the way back to the tube, when It took a detour around some of the back streets on my way to Holborn.

Day #276

Day #276Title: Fancy Facilities
Location: The Strand, London
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: I was in London today to see a friend’s new photographic studio, which he’s just moved into. And afterwards, I went on to the London Photography Meetup Group get together at The George on The Strand. I have been meaning to go along for ages, but it’s only just coincided with a trip to London. Anyway, outside I was admiring the Royal Courts of Justice, and took a few shots before going into the pub. But I also liked the look of this fancy scrollwork surrounding the entrance to the underground public loos.

Day #254

Day #254Title: The Nights Are Drawing in
Location: Galleywood
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes:
Had to pop to the shops this evening on the way home from a client meeting. By the time I was heading home, it was just after seven, but the sun was sinking low already. A reminder that we’re not far off the autumnal equinox, and then the gentle slide towards dark nights once more.
