Day #345

Day #345Title: See The Light
Location: Stock
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: One of Ken Scott’s pieces of advice from his talk last night was: “look for the light and pictures will follow”. Wise words. I was in Stock for a Christmas Lunch today, and having arrived a little bit early, took a quick walk around the village to find something to photograph. I looked for the light, and found my picture!

Day #330

Day #330Title: Carpe Diem
Location: Danbury
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I tooka quick trip over to Little Baddow and Danbury at lunchtime for some pictures. There were quite a few good ones to choose from, but this one struck a chord for the sentiment, as much as the fantastic lichen texture and glancing sunlight, which I found in the churchyard at Danbury. “Sieze The Day” is a good motto, and one thing I’ve learned from doing this project is just that: if you can, sieze the opportunity to take a picture whenever you are able, as it’s often these chance occurrences that produce some of the most memorable images. There are only 36 days left in total now. That’s just one roll of film, for those of you who remember celluloid!

Day #326Title: Abstract Light
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: A bit short of inspiration, time and natural daylight today. But I did sit in my office wondering what to photograph. I looked up, and thought… “ah!” 🙂

Day #310

Day #310Title: Up The Garden Path
Location: Moulsham Mill, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: Found myself at Moulsham Mill again this evening, this time to judge a photo competition for Chelmsford Camera Club. And I realised I hadn’t yet got a picture by the end of the evening. But one thing I’ve learned over the last 310 days is not to panic – picture opportunities will present themselves. Just as I was leaving, I noticed this path through an ornamental garden, and rather liked the light filtering through the trees, even though it was pretty dark.

Day #308Title: Drawing With Light
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Having a quick play with writing with light. Took a few goes to get it framed up right, but I think this isn’t bad! No better options outside today, it was another grey day.

Day #226

Day #226Title: A Play Of Light
Location: Brentwood Cathedral
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes:
My camera club had a photoshoot at the Catholic Cathedral in Brentwood today. It was a blustery day, with the light coming and going – this fleeting colour was to be seen on the floor, lit by one of the stained glass windows. Unfortunately, I didn’t stay very long as I was feeling a bit grotty – coughing and sneezing in an echoey church is a bit embarrassing! So I came home and doped myself up with meds.
