Day #341Title: Mersey Sunset
Location: Liverpool
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: We went for a 5 mile walk around the town to find some geocaches during BarCampLiverpool, and happened to be passing the Mersey just as the sun was sinking low. Great timing.

Day #285Title: Crisp Afternoon On The River
Location: Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation, near Ulting
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Despite having a bad back, I managed a walk along the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation this afternoon. I started off from Hoe Mill Lock and went to the church at Ulting and back. It was a marvellous autumn day, with clear blue skies, bright sun and people messing about in boats. A lovely atmosphere all round.

Day #283Title: Sandford Mill Reflections
Location: Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: One of the joys of being a freelancer is being able to arrange your working hours to suit yourself. Having been stuck behind my desk all day yesterday, I had a productive morning today, and so decided to bunk off for an hour or so this afternoon – I needed to go out to buy more printer ink anyway – so I took a walk along the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation at Sandford Lock. It was a wonderfully sunny afternoon with a light wind and blue sky. These narrowboats were begging to have their picture taken!

Day #272

Day #272Title: Sunday Morning On The Thames
Location: Richmond
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After an evening containing beer, plenty of Werewolf and lots of silliness, the happy Campers finally flaked out around 3am last night. I managed to grab some sleep but woke before 8am. After a spot of breakfast, I went to look at the Thames and was rewarded with a wonderfully atmospheric view of the bridge at Richmond. There was lots of mist floating on the water, the birds were wheeling and then a team of rowers hove into view under the arches. Magic atmosphere. I knew I was unlikely to better it later in the day, so although it’s an early one, it’s going to be Picture Of The Day.

Day #270

Day #270Title: Cater House In The Can
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: Meetings, meetings, meetings. This week seems to have been nothing but. And another one for me today in Chelmsford. The sun was out and the sky blue, so I shot this view of Cater House reflected in the River Can, as I was on my way to the venue.

Day #160

Day #160Title: What Are You Looking At?
Location: South Bank, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I met friends today for a lovely lunch in Roast, a swanky restaurant inside Borough Market. All very civilized. After three courses of gorgeous grub, I decided I needed a bit of a walk! So I took a stroll along the South Bank and caught this chap looking down from the Millennium Bridge.

Day #151

Day #151Title: Dusk Over The Thames
Location: Westminster
Camera: Canon EOS 300D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Another day at @media, plenty of interesting things to listen to. Plus I got to hang out with some delegates and a couple of the speakers afterwards, which was really nice – just chilling out watching the light fade from Hungerford Bridge, then enjoying a beer or two by the Thames. Great way to wind down after the conference.
