Day #407Title: On The Flood Plain
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8
Notes: An unexpected opportunity for pictures today. I had a meeting in the centre of Chelmsford this morning, and we got around to discussing the floods which have risen around the town. I had the camera with me (and remembered a memory card this time!) so took a walk along the river banks from Central Park through the shopping centre and out to Moulsham Mill. The light was pretty ropey (dull grey clouds mostly) so I had only taken the 50mm lens with me. Therefore I was restricted a little in choice of images, but this was a view from the A138 road bridge just east of Moulsham Mill. The “canal” runs through the middle of this picture from right to left, and the fences are at right angles to it, although you’d be hard pressed to guess from this view. There was a lovely towpath walk along the length of the canal too, but I suspect that will be impassable for many weeks to come. The flood plain was covered for just about as far as the eye could see.
