Day #510Title: Large Red Damselfly
Location: Near Cuton Lock
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: The monthly Chelmsford Flickrwalk has come around again, and this time we decided to walk the section of the Centenary Circle between Springfield and Great Baddow. This took us along a part of the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation near Cuton Lock, and we saw a lot of dragonflies and damselflies flitting about. This one just sat still for long enough on a Gunnera leaf so that I was able to get a couple of shots. Thanks to the British Dragonfly Society, I was able to identify what it was.
