Day #1004 Title: London Hill – September
Location: Galleywood
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Left it a bit late to do my September shot from London Hill, but I do have the excuse that I was away in Scotland for half the month. Managed to bag a shot this morning in the nick of time – and the sun even shone! Another one for Treasure Hunt Theme #9 – Scenic Location – September.

Day #1002 Title: Piero’s
Location: Ingatestone
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Today I really noticed the nights begin to draw in. It was dark by 7pm. So I took the camera for a wander around Ingatestone to see what I could find. Piero’s sign attracted my attention, particularly the shadows cast on the wall next to it.

Day #1001 Title: The Shiny Shelf
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: They say the first 1000 days are the hardest, but I’m finding the next 1 a bit difficult! No decent light to speak of and I didn’t even get out for long today. So you’ll have to put up with the storage jars on a shelf in my kitchen. Not terribly inspiring, but it’s the best I could do!

Day #1000

Day #1000 Title: o V l
Location: Maldon
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Well, it’s a milestone I wasn’t ever intending to aim for, but here we are! What better way to celebrate than to go out on a photoshoot with friends, I thought. Although the friends played ball, the weather didn’t. So four of us trudged around a very wet quayside at Maldon for a while and then decided to retire to the pub! This was the locking mechanism of one of the hold covers on a Thames Barge, moored at the Quay. It was the best I could do given the miserable weather – so perhaps a good one for Treasure Hunt Theme #58 – Frustrated!

Day #999 Title: Quayside Regeneration
Location: Wivenhoe
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I went to visit Mum and Dad for lunch today, and stopped off at Wivenhoe Quay on the way, as the sun was out. I’m glad I did, it disappeared soon after lunch, not to be seen again for the day! This is on the site of the old Cook’s Shipyard to the east of the town. New flats are springing up where the boat sheds used to be. But I’m glad there is still room for some of the fishing boats which used to fill the place in years gone by.
