Day #1024

Day #1024Title: Green And Brown
Location: North Benfleet
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I found myself at the now disused All Saints Church in North Benfleet this afternoon, looking for a geocache. I was rather taken with this rusty padlock and hinge combo in a shaft of sunlight.

Day #905

Day #905 Title: Overlap
Location: Norsey Woods, Billericay
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: This afternoon I managed a quick walk in Norsey Woods on my way back from a meeting. It was cool under the shade of the trees, and quiet – a lovely place to escape the noise of the football, which seemed to come from every pub and restaurant on the High Street. I liked the way several leaves were overlapping and providing some shadow interest.

Day #893

Day #893 Title: Thistle Experiment
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: I have finally succumbed to an upgrade of DSLR, my 30D having done 3 hard years’ labour and it’s looking a little the worse for wear. I had been weighing up my options and eventually decided on the Canon EOS 7D. It arrived this morning. I was initially disappointed (only with the weather!) that I could not go out to play as it was dreary and cold. But by the afternoon things had perked up and I nipped into town to buy a new neck strap for it, and take a wander around. This is a thistle growing by the river, with a background of one of the life belts by the water. It’s straight out of the camera. I think I’m going to enjoy using this!

Day #866 Title: 77 Sunset Strip
Location: Brightlingsea
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: I went to visit my parents today, the first time I’ve seen them in ages. After we had a fish & chip lunch, we decided a walk was in order. So we took a stroll along the prom in Brightlingsea. Eventually, the sun came out and I was able to catch this acid green hut against the blue sky.
