Day #812

Day #812Title: Tyne Impressions
Location: Quayside, Gateshead
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: After a spot of geocaching during the afternoon, Alistair arranged an ad hoc get-together of the Newcastle Photowalk folks this evening. We enjoyed a potter around the quayside and Sage Centre at dusk. This is a long exposure looking north towards the Millennium Bridge, straight out of camera, no fiddling! We then went to The Cluny for a rather tasty burger, a few pints and chat. Great to meet you folks!

Day #782 Title: Sail On By
Location: River Crouch at Marsh Farm Park
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Originally Alistair and I had plans to go to Margate today for a Flickr event, but we decided it was a long drive and we weren’t sure what the weather was going to do. So instead we thought we would try some geocaching in Marsh Farm Park in South Woodham Ferrers. In the end, we had a lovely sunny afternoon, and this yacht very obligingly sailed by at the right time to get it framed up in the sparkles of the water. I thought it was a good find for Treasure Hunt theme 52: Backlighting.

Day #734 Title: Heybridge Light
Location: Heybridge Basin
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Another sunny but bitterly cold day. We went to Heybridge Basin and enjoyed a quick lunch looking out over the water. Then we found a few geocaches and came home when it got too cold to do any more. I loved the light on this scene, which works very well for the 2010 group Treasure Hunt theme By The Waterside.
