Day #1461

Day #1461 Title: Tree Climbing
Location: Chelmer Park
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: Alistair and I had great fun today looking for geocaches. The first we found was in a local park – I spotted it up the tree and Alistair went climbing to retrieve it. He loves climbing trees, so didn’t mind at all. Teamwork! We also went for a long walk near Maldon and bagged a load more – finishing after dark. But it was all good fun. A great way to end the year.

Day #1410

Day #1410 Title: On The Forest Floor
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Strobist: 1 x YN560 from camera left with Stofen softbox @ 1/8.
Notes: I took a walk on Galleywood Common this afternoon in search of fungi. But there weren’t many about so I had to find some other subjects. These beach leaves had fallen on a dead birch tree across the path.

Day #1382 Title: Budding Stems
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: Not a lot of time to come up for air today, as I had to work until 11:30pm finishing off some stuff before going away tomorrow. Don’t you just love it when clients bring forward their deadlines unexpectedly? Argh! Anyway, I managed this shot of my Fatsia japonica in bud during a quick tea break this morning. I’ve taken it before, later in the year and more in flower, but I was intrigued by the shapes the buds made this time.
