Day #1292

Day #1292 Title: Circular Motion
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Strobist: 1 x YN560 from below with DIY softbox @ 1/16
Notes: I spent some time this afternoon messing about with a mixture of olive oil and water, above a jazzily coloured sheet of wrapping paper. I got some good abstract shots. Here’s how it was done.

Day #1201 Title: Oblivion
Location: Cromwell, Nottinghamshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: After a full day at work, the plan was to jump on a train to Leeds and go to stay with friends for the weekend. You know how the best laid plans go awry though? Signal failure near Retford turned a bearable 2.5-hour journey into a 6-hour horror. I was due to get to Leeds at around 11pm and eventually arrived at 3.30am. This one is for Alistair, who reminded me (during a long-distance text conversation) to take an image today. It was 11:40pm by then. And also because he was good enough to stay awake and let me into our friends’ flat long after everyone else had retired to bed. What a star! And what a start to the weekend…

Day #1150Title: Water, Water, Everywhere
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: Wall to wall water today, mainly falling from the sky. This incessant rain is getting boring… So, fed up with grey, I thought I would try to inject a bit of colour into things – although still on the water theme. Not entirely happy with the results, but this was the best I could manage with so little inspiration.

Day #1123Title: Bokeh Rising
Location: Great Notley
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: It was the second GNPC meeting in our new hall this evening (having out-grown the previous one at the Village Hall). I hadn’t had much time during the rest of the day to make a picture – so this was composed in the interval. It’s a transfer on one of the windows of the Church hall.
