Day #1393

Day #1393 Title: Bright Lights, Big City
Location: Holborn, London
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Another day freelancing in London today, and then a short walk this evening to visit the London Webstandards meeting in Holborn. I was wondering what to photograph for the day when I spied this coloured light show just off New Fetter Lane. A convenient bollard on a traffic island in the middle of the road provided a suitable tripod for a long exposure.

Day #1359 Title: Dusk Dining
Location: Hampstead
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: I had the pleasure of judging the first print competition of the season at Hampstead Photographic Society this evening. I arrived early and settled into a lovely little café nearby to have a bite to eat beforehand. I must admit, I didn’t imagine I would be dining on the pavement, but it was actually quite warm enough and I enjoyed my dinner very much.

Day #1262 Title: Beech Street
Location: Barbican, London
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: After a very enjoyable impromptu evening in the pub with friends from work, I took a quick snap in the Beech Street tunnel (which runs under the Barbican Centre) as I walked back to Liverpool Street to catch my train.

Day #1154Title: Seeing Red
Location: On the M3, stuck
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Although I enjoyed day two of BarCamp Bournemouth3, I didn’t enjoy the drive home at all. I left Bournemouth at 4pm with the SatNav originally predicting my arrival time at home as 6.30pm (a tad optimistic). However, the M3 had other ideas. Two accidents, hideous traffic jams and plenty of idiot drivers meant I finally got home just after 9pm. That’s 5 hours to drive 150 miles. Serves me right for making a journey on the Sunday at the end of half term week, I suppose 🙁
