Day #1472

Day #1472 Title: Crown Jewels
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Strobist: 1 YN560 from left through Opteka grid @ 1/64; 1 YN560 from right through DIY gridded snoot @ 1/64; 1 x YN560 from rear through DIY softbox and perspex @ 1/128
Notes: More fun with the double Valve Sensor setup. This time I was trying to catch a matching pair of crowns. This one really caught my eye. Here’s how it was done. I thought it would make an excellent image for Treasure Hunt Theme #42 – Splash.

Day #1471 Title: Little And Large
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Strobist: 1 YN560 from left through DIY gridded snoot @ 1/64; 1 YN560 from right through Opteka gridded snoot @ 1/64; 1 x YN560 from rear through DIY softbox, perspex and pink/blue gels @ 1/128
Notes: Never one to make life easy for myself, I thought I would make use of my second Valve Sensor and try a double collision shot – two valves each dropping two drops simultaneously. This is a good shot for Treasure Hunt #26 – A New Technique. There’s no Photoshop here – it’s just as taken. Here are some more. Timing is critical – things have suddenly become an order of magnitude harder to control! 🙁

Day #1469 Title: Frisbee And Ball
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Strobist: 1 YN560 from front left through DIY gridded snoot @ 1/64; 1 YN560 from front right through DIY snoot @ 1/64; 2 x YN560 from each side on rear hologram paper @ 1/64;
Notes: A late night session in the studio resulted in some more splash shots. This time I was experimenting with two-tone and multicoloured backgrounds – something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. I was pleased with this one – taken literally at the last minnute – made at 23:59! Now time for bed.
