Day #1587

Day #1587 Title: Marconi’s Mast
Location: Galley End
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: There were a few dramatic clouds this afternoon which I found as I was cycling around Galley End. The oilseed rape fields are still in full flower, and the former Chain Home radar mast at the Marconi Research Centre made a good silhouette against the clouds. The mast is 360 feet high, and half way up there’s a rather scarily-placed shed!

Day #1563 Title: Breaking Through
Location: Ingatestone
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: As I got off the train this evening, it became evident that I had just missed a huge storm, and the sunset was breaking through the heavy cloud bank. I knew a suitable vantage point, and grabbed a quick shot before hurrying off to my club committee meeting.

Day #1463 Title: Bambi-Spotting
Location: Panfield
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 45-200mm f/4-5.6 IOS
Notes: It was a beautiful sunny day today so Alistair and I decided to go for a long walk near Braintree – we did around 5 miles between Rayne and Panfield. Yes, we might have found some geocaches along the way. As we were walking through some rolling fields, we spotted a herd of deer running wild. It was great to see them in their natural habitat.
