Day #1741

Day #1741 Title: Mud & Sunshine
Location: Braxted, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 /14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: Whenever Alistair goes geocaching with me, he claims it rains and we get wet. Well so far this week, we’ve had pretty good odds and not been rained on once! Although there was plenty of mud around at times, and we have had close calles, arriving back at the car just in time! These tyre tracks caught my attention as we were hiking down a track near Braxted. I like the high relief they are thrown into given a bit of low autumn sunshine.

Day #1740 Title: Green Tranquility
Location: Wickham Bishops
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm f/1.7
Notes: Today was a little more overcast, but we managed to avoid any rain during our geocaching walk. This is the lovely little wooden viaduct across the River Blackwater just south of Witham, which used to support the Witham to Maldon branch line before Dr Beeching’s axe fell. I love the peacefulness of this location – which we last visited (again on a geocaching mission) on Day #564.

Day #1734 Title: Brighton Sunny Morning
Location: Brighton Pavilion
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: We arrived in Brighton in plenty of time for the BarCamp this morning. And as it was gloriously sunny, Alistair and I decided to run a geocaching session as one of the first on the board. Any excuse to chase tupperware! We took a group of about 10 BarCampers around the local streets to find 3 caches, one of which was very close to this viewpoint of the marvellously mad Pavilion, one of my favourite architectural subjects in Brighton. It’s years since I got a reflection shot as good as this though (last time was on film!). See more pictures from the weekend.

Day #1701 Title: Pylon Symmetry
Location: St Lawrence
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: Another geocaching trip with Alistair today – this time on the Dengie Peninsula. I liked the pattern formed by the struts of this pylon, under which we found one cache. The clouds helped to give it some interest too.

Day #1700 Title: 3D Photographer
Location: Doddinghurst
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: Alistair and I enjoyed a long geocaching walk today around the village of Doddinghurst. At one point we passed this field of sunflowers, and could not resist taking a few shots. Here he is trying out his new 3D Camera. I thought it would make a good shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #41 – Photographers Working.

Day #1524 Title: Endgrain
Location: Hockridge Wood, Herts
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: I went to visit a geocaching friend today and we had a great walk in Hockridge Woods. There was an enormous pile of wooden logs in a clearing and the patterns on the cut ends were rather intriguing.
