Day #1657

Day #1657 Title: British Summer Time
Location: Ingatestone
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 70-300mm EF f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM
Notes: Yet another soggy day – this time for a trip to the village fête. There was plenty of stoic British stiff upper lip in evidence – along with brollies and wellies all round. Thought this would make a great shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #22 – Wellies.

Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: After months of neglecting my garden (and plenty of rain), I finally found time to cut the grass today. Shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #6 – Once A Month – June and of course, Face Down Tuesday.

Day #1475 Title: Hoar Frost Grass
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 7D /60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: Finally Winter seems to have arrived in Essex, and with it the first really hard frost of the year. We haven’t had many this winter so far, even before Christmas. So I took a trip to the Common to look for pictures first thing this morning. The sun had come out but it was still quite a while before it had the warmth to melt the hoar frost clinging to all the plants. I spent some time photographing this little bunch. I thought it made an excellent subject for Treasure Hunt Theme #15 – Turn Of The Seasons. Here are a few more shots I took today as well.

Day #1463 Title: Bambi-Spotting
Location: Panfield
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 45-200mm f/4-5.6 IOS
Notes: It was a beautiful sunny day today so Alistair and I decided to go for a long walk near Braintree – we did around 5 miles between Rayne and Panfield. Yes, we might have found some geocaches along the way. As we were walking through some rolling fields, we spotted a herd of deer running wild. It was great to see them in their natural habitat.
