Day #1748 Title: Walls Have Eyes
Location: Holborn
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: I spent a very enjoyable morning in London with a couple of friends giving some photo coaching and doing a practical shoot near the British Museum. We also had a tasty lunch nearby and then said our goodbyes. They seemed to get a lot out of it and went away buzzing with enthusiasm, which was a great feeling. The afternoon light was too good to waste so I decided to take a walk back from Holborn towards Liverpool Street, finding some geocaches on the way. I passed this arresting mural in High Holborn and couldn’t resist waiting for a passer-by to walk into the frame.

Day #1565 Title: Little Read Coat
Location: Stratford, London
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: I had a few minutes to kill at Stratford this evening, so I took a quick trip to Westfield to see what I could see. The big footbridge over the station provided some interest with all the reflections in the glass sides. New sculpture has also appeared.

Day #1511 Title: Brick Lane Bro’s
Location: Brick Lane, London
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: I went to Columbia Road Flower Market, Spitalfields and Brick Lane today with friends from GNPC to do some street photography. In Brick Lane we saw these three guys enjoying some rap music together. I was really pleased to get quite a few impromptu shots of them – at least they looked good through the viewfinder. When I reviewed them on the back of the camera shortly afterwards, I discovered to my horror that I had accidentally switched from Av mode to full manual – which was still set to 1/200th @ f/22 after some recent studio work. Argh!! So the best images of the day were about 4-stops under-exposed! I was very annoyed with myself but decided to salvage something from the encounter by chatting to the dapper gent on the right for my 100 Strangers project. Thankfully, when I got the other pictures back to the computer, I was delighted to be able to pull back enough detail, so this just had to be picture of the day.
