Day #1740

Day #1740 Title: Green Tranquility
Location: Wickham Bishops
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm f/1.7
Notes: Today was a little more overcast, but we managed to avoid any rain during our geocaching walk. This is the lovely little wooden viaduct across the River Blackwater just south of Witham, which used to support the Witham to Maldon branch line before Dr Beeching’s axe fell. I love the peacefulness of this location – which we last visited (again on a geocaching mission) on Day #564.

Day #1627 Title: Lines, Circles and Hexagons
Location: Heybridge Basin
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 70-300mm EF f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM
Notes: GNPC had arranged a trip to Heybridge Basin this evening for a photoshoot, but the weather was far from kind – very windy, some drizzle and an uninspiring Cement Lid. So I decided to go for some abstract close ups from around the boat yard and environs. This was on the back of the huge crane which is used to lift the boats out of the water.

Day #1531 Title: Through A Glass, Clearly
Location: Histon
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I spent the evening with lovely friends near Cambridge. This is an elegant lamp stand on one of their many book cases. I’ve known Victoria since we were both at school, and she used to be an avid reader of Agatha Chrisitie novels – so this (rather bad) pun is quite appropriate!
