Day #2039Title: Norfolk Ice Cream
Location: Sheringham, Norfolk
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: It was rather grey today but I headed to Sheringham for breakfast and a walk. This mural is part of a longer display of art along the sea wall to the east side of the town. The weather only got worse, and I got very wet eventually, so I didn’t make any better images later in the day. By mid-afternoon, I decided to make my way home rather than stay on any longer. After a week away, it was good to get back!

Day #2038Title: Silky Water
Location: Happisburgh, Norfolk
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After a long drive from the North West to Norfolk yesterday, I was pleased not to have to venture very far by car today. I met up with a Twitter friend, @markescapes who has moved from Essex to Norfolk in the last few years. Small World – he used to live in the same village as me! We had an excellent late breakfast in the beach side café near Happisburgh and then took a long stroll down the beach and back along the clifftops. The light was challenging, but always interesting. I finally got to use my ND10 filter (a Big Stopper clone) which I’ve had since Christmas but not had the chance to experiment with until now. I know this sort of thing is a bit cliché here, but it’s the first time I’ve done it! Then I spent the afternoon and early evening having a solo wander around the pretty town of Cromer and enjoyed a chippy tea looking out over the pier. Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside! It also fits the Treasure Hunt Theme #36 – Slow Water. The Cybermen enjoyed the beach again today, and I found some elegant curves on Cromer Pier.

Day #2037Title: Well Kept Parkland
Location: Stanley Park, Blackpool, Lancashire
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: Alistair and I indulged in a spot of geocaching this morning around Stanley Park. There were some lovely floral displays in the grounds. These cheerful flower beds looked even better once the sun had come out. The Cybermen admired the flowers too. I also saw a pair of Swans A’ Swimming.

Day #2036Title: Smile For The (Speed) Camera
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: Alistair and I enjoyed a long geocaching walk around Fleetwood today before heading back to North Shore for our evening food. On the way to our chosen restaurant, it started chucking it down (again), but we didn’t get quite as wet as last night as we had taken a big golfing umbrella with us. After dinner, it had eased up a bit and this was made on the way back to the B&B. It makes a great scene for Treasure Hunt Theme #37 – Fast Vehicles. I’m not sure if the car was actually speeding, but choosing a long shutter speed certainly gave that impression! The Cybermen did some Beachcombing in Fleetwood, and I found some Shapely Shadows In The Sand.

Day #2035Title: The Four Seasons
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: We went along to BarCamp Blackpool 5 today, at the Norbreck Hotel. This meant spending much of the day indoors. But we made the most of the sunshine first thing as we walked from our B&B. It was much better than the torrential rain which drenched us on the way back late in the evening! They are already gearing up for the Blackpool Illuminations – these four seasons displays have taken their place along the North Shore, between the tram tracks and the Promenade. The Cybermen also went to BarCamp Blackpool, and I made another mono image, Paddle In The Irish Sea.

Day #2034Title: Ride The Wave
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: I finally arrived in Blackpool this afternoon and met up with Alistair before we headed off to the pre-BarCampBlackpool nosh in the centre of town. The venue was near this sculpture, The Wave, which provided a striking image for the day. The Cybermen enjoyed their day at the seaside too. And I found some interesting North Shore Shadows for my mono shot today.

Day #2033Title: Stainless See-Saw
Location: Bracknell, Berkshire
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I had a meeting in Bracknell this morning and took the opportunity to have a wander around the local park during the afternoon, before setting off on my journey to the Midlands for an overnight stop on the way to Blackpool. I found this funky stainless steel see-saw in the playground which rather took my fancy. The Cybermen started their holiday today too.
