Day #2187Title: Boxing Day Stroll
Location: Kingsgate Bay, Kent
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 17-40mm EF f/4 L USM
Notes: It dawned a beautifully sunny blue sky day, so before heading to friends again for more Christmas feed, Julian, Allison and I took a long walk along the beach around Botany and Kingsgate Bays. The shadows were great.

Day #2162Title: The Billericay Crier
Location: Billericay, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-55mm EF f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: Today was the Billericay Christmas Festival with market stalls, a procession and other festive goings-on in the High Street all day. I met up with some friends for a photowalk and although it was pretty cold, we pottered about and had a good time. I managed to find Stranger #31 for my street portraits project. The Town Crier opened the proceedings. Here he is in full shouty flow. I made the colour pop to reduce the distractions from the background.

Day #2138Title: Portrait Of A Photographer
Location: Great Notely
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM
Strobist: One studio flash from RHS, through softbox. Shadows lightened with silver reflector on LHS.
Notes: We had a studio lighting shoot at GNPC this evening. Portraiture is not something I’m normally very interested in, but every now and then you have to do something out of your comfort zone, so I decided to go along. I managed to persuade fellow Project 365 photographer friend Lawrence to pose in front of a camera  for a change. I wanted to produce a low key image, which suits male portraits much better than the ladies. I also liked how the directional side light had picked out the edges of his camera lens.

Day #2128Title: Obedience In The Park
Location: Chelmer Park
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I had lots of jobs to do at home today after my weekend away, but managed a quick walk around Chelmer Park this afternoon once the sun had come out. This lady was training her two dogs and paused in the perfect place to give some more interest to my composition.

Day #2126Title: Wedding Vows
Location: Clarence Dock, Leeds
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 70-300mm EF f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM
Notes: Yesterday my friends Heather and Dominic got married at a very small family wedding. Alistair was the best man. Today however, they had a “second” wedding and big party for their extended family and friends, saying their self-penned vows in front of us all during another ceremony. This time Alistair was in charge! What could possibly go wrong? Nothing, as he had his trusty “Conducting A Wedding For Dummies” book in hand throughout. It was a lovely event with plenty of amusements for kids big and small at the after party. I was very pleased to catch this picture of Alistair, Dom and Heather during the ceremony, looking like they were enjoying themselves immensely.
