Day #2155 Title: Cloister Corner
Location: Lacock Abbey
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: After an enjoyable couple of days in Bath, today Alistair and I headed home via a visit to the Fox Talbot Musuem at Lacock Abbey. There was an excellent exhibition on show of astronomical photography, plus information on the history of early photographic processes first developed in Lacock by Fox Talbot. The Abbey is also an interesting house to visit, with many period rooms. I had to wait for some time for other visitors to absent themselves from this corner of the cloisters – a tricky feat when using a fisheye lens!

Day #2134Title: In A Bubble
Location: Hylands Park, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: It was a beautiful sunny autumn afternoon. This was made during a photowalk with a couple of friends in Hylands Park. I thought I would give my fisheye lens a bit of a spin – on the 5D, it’s a full circular image at the 8mm end (and full-frame fisheye at 15mm). I thought this made the scene look like it was contained in a bubble.

Day #2043Title: In A Spin
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: Ever had one of those days where you feel like putting your head in the washing machine? No? Must just be me then… Anyway, it makes a good shot for Treasure Hunt #57 – Sparkling.

Day #2028Title: View From The Stage
Location: IndigO2, Greenwich
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: I spent the weekend at the IndigO2 at the Hacked.io event with Alistair and lots of other geek friends. We were encouraged to build something physical, write some code, or just learn new things in the company of our peers. This was the view from the stage when a lot of the geeks had gone for dinner this evening. But with nearly 500 participants attending over the weekend, most of the time these tables were full with busy people. I managed to set aside some time to build a new section of my website, dedicated to my personal photographic archive from BBC Television Centre, which I had been meaning to put together since May. But time flies! I finished the structure and uploaded about half of the content during the weekend, then showed off my work to the audience during the presentations on Sunday. I hope to add the remaining content very soon. Check it out here.

Day #2005Title: The Purple Pub
Location: Maldon Hythe
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: We had Summer evening photowalk to Maldon with GNPC scheduled for today. So the weather was grey and drizzly, turning even wetter! I did manage to find another 50@50 image for the collection, and a few others of interest. After wandering around for half an hour or so, a few of us gave up and retired to the pub where we spent a very convivial evening talking about photography instead of doing it. This is the The Jolly Sailor, a most welcoming hostelry on the Quayside.

Day #1962Title: King William IV Pub
Location: Great Notley
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: A grab shot late at night as I was leaving the pub after our Club committee meeting and social drinks this evening. Angus the landlord is lurking off to the right, blissfully unaware that he’s in shot, thanks to my fisheye lens. Pub bars taken with the fisheye may become an occasional series… the research will be fun if nothing else!

Day #1949Title: Blinded By The Light
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: We were treated to another wonderfully sunny day today. My attention was caught by the stripy patterns thrown onto the wall of this office by the Venetian blinds. I also found great shots for my 50@50 and Mono MayHem projects too.
