Day #2144

Day #2144Title: It’s Gone Green
Location: Ingatestone Station
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: I’ve photographed the footbridge at Ingatestone Station on many occasions, the last just 99 days ago on Day #2045 when it had just had a fresh coat of blue paint. To my surprise, it’s now been painted a horrible sludgy green! Not sure why. But the long low shadows made it look interesting as I crossed this morning.

Day #2141Title: Jetty Moorings
Location: Mersea Island, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 100-400mm EF f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Notes: There was some beautiful light today at Mersea Island. Although it was cold there was wall to wall blue sky for much of the day. These little boats were moored up on the jetty in the perfect place to catch the sun.

Day #2083Title: Bright Squares At Your Feet
Location: Great Sutton Street, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF5 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Pancake
Notes: We went for a pub lunch today – not far – just 3 floors down from the office! The Slaughtered Lamb on Great Sutton Street has some interesting coloured windows around the ground floor. I’ve seen them from the outside often enough, but have wanted to get a shot from inside with the light streaming through for ages. Today was the day.

Day #2019Title: Leaf Ribs
Location: The Geffrye Museum, Hoxton
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: This afternoon I spent a very pleasant few hours with my friend Paola in Hoxton. We enjoyed a hearty fry up at  a local greasy spoon café for lunch, then had a wander around the nearby Geffrye Museum and gardens. As if we hadn’t eaten enough, we then decided to find somewhere for tea and cake! All in all a fun afternoon but I’m glad I was able to walk about 6 miles today, just to shake some of it down. This lovely leaf was in the garden at the museum. I managed to position it with the light behind to emphasise its colour and texture.

Day #2008Title: Bike Bits
Location: Maldon, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: I enjoyed a grand day out with photowalk friends Simon and Sue at the Bikes & Barges event at Maldon today. It was a fantastically sunny day, there were lots of shiny motorbikes to look at, we enjoyed a leisurely pint over lunch and generally pottered around happily. This striking paint detail on one of the bikes caught my eye – I particularly liked the shape of the brake light. There was also a blue one which I decided to choose as 50 @ 50 (2013) #26. I chatted to two more strangers during the afternoon, #29 Tony and #30 Ross, found some Strangers Had Landed and made another striking detail shot for the mono blog. You can see more of my images from the day too.
