Day #2150

Day #2150Title: Autumn Trunks
Location: Epping Forest
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM
Notes: After another wet start, the day perked up so Alistair and I set off for a quick explore of Epping Forest. We had a wander among the shedding trees and found some lovely landscapes, as well as a geocache in the undergrowth. After a cup of tea and slice of cake, we then headed home. It was good to get out at least for a few hours.

Day #2127Title: Individualism
Location: Temple Newsome, Leeds
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: After the partying yesterday, we needed to get out for a walk and some fresh air today, so Alistair and I decided to go searching for a few geocaches with our geofriend Mick. We ventured out to the parklands of Temple Newsome, a big country house on the East side of Leeds. We were very lucky with the weather – it was a blustery but fine Autumn afternoon with the rain holding off until we were safely enjoying a cuppa in the tea shop! Then back to a friend’s house for a fish and chip supper before we each headed off home in opposite directions.

Day #2116Title: Rosy Bonnet
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM
Strobist: 1 x YN560 from RHS, through Stofen diffuser @ 1/32; 1 x YN560 from LHS, through Stofen diffuser @ 1/32
Notes: Thankfully, the plumber turned up promptly this morning and managed to sort out the boiler problem, so that’s one less thing to worry about. It wasn’t exactly cheap, but it could have been much worse. Water continued to flow from the sky for most of the day (but not the boiler). By late this afternoon, I noticed a break in the clouds, so I packed up my fungi-hunting kit and headed to Galleywood Common to find a few mores specimens. This lovely duo of Mycena rosea were lurking in the wet undergrowth, with the flash bringing out the sparkle.

Day #2115Title: In A Depression
Location: Bunhill Fields, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF5 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Pancake
Notes: What a day! Firstly a full day’s work in London, followed by 3 hours learning JavaScript (week 4 out of 5 of my course) near Liverpool Street. I arrived home just after 10:30pm to find water leaking from my boiler all over the kitchen floor! Argh! Had to turn the water off, mop up as best I could and book an emergency plumber to come round first thing tomorrow morning. This image seemed to sum up my day – it was taken in Bunhill Fields as I walked to work this morning, oblivious to the impending evening’s shenanigans.
