Day #2151

Day #2151Title: Disobedient Shadows
Location: Chelmer Park
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF5 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Pancake
Notes: A little scene from our sunny but cold walk in Chelmer Park this afternoon. I think the cricket groundsmen have cordoned off a new plot for next year’s crease. Our naughty shadows could not resist crossing the line!

Day #2063Title: You Get Under My Skin
Location: NLSME Track, London Colney
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: We had a very wet afternoon at the annual Geek Steam BBQ today, but it didn’t dampen the spirits too much! There was still fun to be had chatting and riding the trains while dodging the downpours. I didn’t take too many pictures but this is the end of the club house carriage whose paint is peeling in a fascinating way.

Day #2026Title: Window Drips
Location: Heybridge Basin
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM
Notes: We had a lovely sunny evening at Heybridge Basin for the GNPC photowalk this evening. There were the usual nautical shots to be had, plus a rather stunning sunset. But this window showing old dripping paint is the one I chose for today’s shot. I also found an interesting image for the Mono Blog nearby.

Day #2008Title: Bike Bits
Location: Maldon, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: I enjoyed a grand day out with photowalk friends Simon and Sue at the Bikes & Barges event at Maldon today. It was a fantastically sunny day, there were lots of shiny motorbikes to look at, we enjoyed a leisurely pint over lunch and generally pottered around happily. This striking paint detail on one of the bikes caught my eye – I particularly liked the shape of the brake light. There was also a blue one which I decided to choose as 50 @ 50 (2013) #26. I chatted to two more strangers during the afternoon, #29 Tony and #30 Ross, found some Strangers Had Landed and made another striking detail shot for the mono blog. You can see more of my images from the day too.

Day #1907Title: Fault Line
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: There’s a wall at the edge of the car park near the Essex Records Office which has been derelict for some time. It’s a favourite of graffiti artists who love to paint and overpaint their designs on it. The art changes each time I visit. I’m drawn to colour and details, and often make images from small sections of the bigger pictures. I liked the fault line running through this – the boundary between two of the concrete slabs which make up the wall. I thought it would make an excellent image for Treasure Hunt Theme #42 – Graffiti.
