Day #2172

Day #2172Title: St. Luke’s At Lunchtime
Location: Helmet Row, Clerkenwell
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-55mm EF f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: A frustrating journey to work this morning as there was some very atmospheric mist as I drove to the station but I didn’t have time to take advantage of it. So I consoled myself with a bit of a potter at lunchtime. The light on the railings and trees of St Luke’s on Old Street was rather pleasant.

Day #2163Title: You’ve Got The Eye
Location: Fitzrovia, London
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: I had an interesting encounter this evening. I was walking from Clerkenwell to Fitzrovia to meet friends for dinner, making a few pictures along the way. Close by the British Museum, I was lining up an image of railings as a man walked by. He suddenly stopped, looked at the railings and said “What do you see? I walk by here every day but don’t see anything interesting”. I showed him the image on the back of the camera, and he remarked:

“Yes, you’ve got the eye” as he walked away, a smile on his face…

Day #1985Title: Fenced Off
Location: Barbican Centre, London
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: What a lovely day in London! It started off with me meeting my friend Paola for a tasty lunch at Belgo’s, then we spent the afternoon catching up in the Seven Dials Club, rounding it off with a slab of yummy cake in the West End! After we parted, I found a new geocache near Broadcasting House (I’m not an addict, I can give up any time I want…) then walked back to the tube to get my train. I spotted this as I’d got off the Underground a couple of stops early. A stroll through the Barbican Centre often provides interesting photographic fodder. They’re replacing some of the slabs on one of the high walkways – I loved the way the low evening sun caught the temporary railings. It makes a perfect image for Treasure Hunt Theme #74 – Cobbled Streets (or Unusual paving).

Day #1912Title: Up The Stairs
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: I found another quirky location at TVC today. Mind you, I’m always a sucker for a staircase. I thought this would make a great shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #25 – View From Below.

Day #1857 Title: Sun Trap
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: After two days indoors doing my accounts and tax, I finally got out of the house today. I was pleased to see the sunshine this morning, during a quick trip into town for supplies. The light was behind me, bouncing off a window on the building opposite and casting attractive shadows on the lumpy bumpy path by the river Can.

Day #1854 Title: Discontinuity
Location: Chelmer Park
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: Another sunny day, despite a dreafully unpromising start. When the rain stopped I took a walk to Chelmer Park to make some pictures for the Toybox 52 Weeks challenge and saw this striking shadow of some railings near the big slide.
