Day #2192

Day #2192Title: Your Carriage Awaits
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-55mm EF f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: It was another wet, grim day and so we spent most of the day indoors until after dark. Then a short walk took us past the limo I photographed on Day #2178. And so that brings me to the end of my 6th year of daily picture-making. My carriage awaits into next year’s adventures!

Day #2178Title: The Limo
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: I had to take my “limo” into the garage for its MOT and annual service today. Walking home on the way back from dropping it off, I passed this real stretch limo parked in a residential street close to home. I’ve seen it a few times before, so I assume the chauffeur lives around here somewhere. The raindrops on the tinted windows added some extra texture. Sadly my own “limo” cost quite a few quid to repair, but at least I’ve got it back in good shape now for future winter journeys.

Day #2147Title: In The Blue Corner
Location: Huxley Building, Brighton University
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 17-40mm EF f/4 L USM
Notes: This is the swanky new building at Brighton University where BarCamp Brighton 8 was held this weekend. I liked the unusual angles of the architecture.

Day #2114Title: Multicoloured Moorfields
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: Thanks to a tipoff from my Flickr friend Dave, I went looking for this unusual building on my way home from work this evening. It’s the Richard Desmond building, part of Moorfields Eye Hospital near Old Street, by architects Penoyre & Prasad LLP. The exterior illumination colours change regularly, so I spent a few minutes watching them rotate until I found a pattern I liked best.  What a funky building!

Day #2083Title: Bright Squares At Your Feet
Location: Great Sutton Street, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF5 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Pancake
Notes: We went for a pub lunch today – not far – just 3 floors down from the office! The Slaughtered Lamb on Great Sutton Street has some interesting coloured windows around the ground floor. I’ve seen them from the outside often enough, but have wanted to get a shot from inside with the light streaming through for ages. Today was the day.

Day #2074Title: Leadenhall Reflections
Location: City of London
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: It was a wonderful golden-hour evening just as I got let out from work today, so I took a walk down to Leadenhall Street via the Barbican to find a few shots. Lloyd’s has been photographed many times before (not least by me), but I thought this reflection in the glass windows of the office on the corner of Leadenhall Street made for something a bit different.

Day #2073Title: Frobisher Crescent
Location: Barbican, London
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 17-40mm EF f/4 L USM
Notes: I loved the contrast between the blue sky and yellow signage at the Barbican as I passed by today. This is near Frobisher Crescent on one of the high level walkways.
