Day #2555

Day #2555Title: Film Noir Bus Stop
Location: Galleywood
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-135mm EF-S f3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: I spotted this bus stop and its shadow on the way to the Post Office this morning. I thought to myself, “what that scene needs is someone waiting for a bus”. Sure enough, on my way back from the Post Office a few minutes later, a potential passenger had arrived and sat down.

Day #2535Title: A Grand Old Lady
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM
Notes: A closer view of my 1953-55 Zeiss Ikon Contessa 35. She’s looking grand for a pensioner, isn’t she? You will see lots of film images from this lovely piece of engineering next year in my new project, Retro 365.

Day #2533Title: There And Back
Location: Heybridge Basin, Maldoin
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: After more decorating at home, I decided to head out to catch a few last rays of sunshine this afternoon. Initially I pottered around Great Baddow Churchyard but eventually ended up at a favourite spot, Heybridge Basin. After a cup of tea in the pub to warm up (I was driving…) I mooched about on the sea wall and spotted these odd tracks in the mud, for Treasure Hunt Theme #14 – Animal Tracks.

Day #2515Title: Push
Location: Dedham Craft Centre, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-135mm EF-S f3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: I went to Dedham for a look around and have lunch with Mum & Dad at the Craft Centre. They have these fab cast metal hands on the doors to the toilets. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #53 – Hands.

Day #2508Title: To Far-Out Worlds
Location: e2v Factory, Chelmsford, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-135mm EF-S f3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: This is a sculpture outside the Chelmsford factory of technology company e2v. As the culmination of a 10-year mission, today the ESA landed the Philae probe on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The imaging sensors, which have already been sending back some fantastic pictures from the robotic probes Rosetta and Philae, were manufactured right here in Chelmsford by e2v. How cool is that?
