Day #2554

Day #2554Title: This Way And That In The Mud
Location: White’s Bridge, Margaretting
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-135mm EF-S f3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: Low sun lights the furrows in this field in Margaretting. There’s still plenty of standing water on the soil, not sure how productive the land will be unless it dries out a bit.

Day #2530Title: Coloured Cobbles
Location: Great Baddow
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-135mm EF-S f3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: What a horrible, grizzly grey day it was, with perpetual fine drizzle and a biting wind. I sought out some colour in the streets on my way past the shops this afternoon.

Day #2511

Day #2511Title: Acer, Granite, Bamboo & Water
Location: Rhino Rock, East Peckham, Kent
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-135mm EF-S f3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: Julian and I took a ride over to Rhino Rock’s Japanese Garden Centre today, so that I could get some ideas for overhauling my back garden. It was raining, but Japanese gardens look fantastic in the rain anyway – I loved the mixture of the water on the smooth granite and the organic shape of the fallen Acer leaf.

Day #2478Title: Anything But
Location: Regent Street, London
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: I endured a miserable, wet day in London today. I had to visit for a meeting this morning and after lunch I treated myself to a look around the Sebastião Salgado exhibition at Beetles+Huxley in Piccadilly. I first saw Salgado’s Workers exhibition at the RPS in 1995 when I received my LRPS award, and have been a great fan of his mono work, but it’s the first time I’ve seen real prints hanging on a wall since then. This little ironic scene caught my eye as I was squelching down Regent Street on my way to the gallery.

Day #2432Title: Snail’s Pace
Location: Ingatestone Station
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-55mm EF f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: I spotted this snail, patiently making its way up a lichen-covered post, while I was waiting for my train this morning. I liked the pattern on its shell.

Day #2401Title: Showers And Shapes
Location: Ingatestone Station
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-55mm EF f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
Notes: It was hammering with rain this morning when I got to the station. I noticed the lovely raindrops on someone’s soft-top in the car park. Hope it doesn’t leak!
