Day #3268

Day #3268Title: Take The Strain
Location: Maldon, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: It promised to be sunny this morning, so I set off to Maldon for a potter along the Quay. It’s usually fertile ground for photography. This morning’s low sun cast these amazing big fat shadows of a chain mooring one of the old Thames Barges to the quayside. It just had to be mono.

Day #3217Title: Three Way Split
Location:  Pebmarsh, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GH3 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: It’s not often that you see a three-way signpost. But it was decision time here. I needed to make up my mind which way to go – first! Since I needed to visit all three directions to find information which would reveal the final location of a geocache. Which way would you go first?

Location: Canvey Island, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GH3 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was in Canvey Island today, and spotted this greeting for the Kentish folks across the water, scrawled on the sea wall! Made me smile.

Location: Hatfield Peverel, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GH3 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was fooling about with a couple of geocaching friend today, looking for a cache under the A12 at a bridge over a little river. This scary, spaced-out character stared at us from one of the concrete supporting walls!

Location: A12 J21, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GH3 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: The business end of a bridge. I’m under something going over, or is that over something going under? Or both?

Day #2957Title: Courtyard Bench
Location: Great Baddow, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: I had a fitful night’s sleep and felt pretty rough when I woke up. Then dozed again for three hours. Clearly the bug hasn’t finished with me yet. I had to venture out this afternoon for more cough mixture, flu meds and teabags, stocks of which were running dangerously low. This is one of the benches in the courtyard of The Vines shopping arcade in Great Baddow. I’ve not turned it Sepia, it really was mostly brown.
