Day #3592Title: TIE Striker Deconstructed
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I thought I would have a little play with one of my LEGO Star Wars Microfighters today, as the weather was a bit grim. I quite liked this result.

Day #3591Title: Slate & Bracken
Location: Fulneck, Pudsey, West Yorkshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I’ve been away for almost three weeks in Newcastle and Leeds, but today it was time for me to head home at last. Of course, while I was in the area, I made the most of the daylight to find some geocaches I particularly wanted to seek out, and then did most of the drive in the dark. I don’t mind particularly, especially as my new car has much better lights than the old one, which were a bit dim at times. One of my first stops today was in Fulneck, a little suburb of Pudsey, where I found this delightful yellowed bracken framed rather nicely against the contrasting grey slate.

Day #3590Title: Flame Red & Peeling
Location: Meanwood Valley Urban Farm, Headlingly, Leeds
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: We weren’t having to make the hike back to Manchester again today, so I spent some time with Tim, Carolyn and their little toddler Bethany. We visited Meanwood Valley Urban Farm and enjoyed a walk around, feeding the sheep and goats and had a nice cup of tea in the café. I spotted this gorgeous bark during our little wander around.

Day #3589Title: Manchester Lunchtime
Location: Manchester City Centre
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was back in Manchester today for the WordCamp event at the University. There were lots of engaging sessions so I didn’t have much time for photos. I nipped out at lunchtime, do be greeted with a deluge of that fine, misty rain, where you don’t think you’ll get wet but end up soaked within 5 minutes. So I gave up and went back to the conference venue to dry out! This forlorn little leaf was sitting on top of one of the uplighters in the pavement, which illuminate the building at night. As you can see, it’s all pretty damp.

Day #3588Title: The Busy Bee
Location: Manchester City Centre
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today I went to Manchester with friend Tim, who kindly gave me a lift to an conference event we were both attending. We arrived very early as he had some setup to do (he was part of the organising team) so I took a wander around the City Centre until it was time for registration. Clearly the Mancunian folks feel strongly about Brexit – I found this European Flag on a wall, along with the city’s Work Bee symbol placed firmly in the middle. It made a great subject for Treasure Hunt Theme #62 – Stars (a much better replacement for the lacklustre attempt from Day #3562).

Day #3587Title: Steps To The Past
Location: Jervaulx Abbey, North Yorkshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Time to leave Newcastle today, and head for West Yorkshire where I’m staying with some friends for a few days to catch up with them and go to a conference. One of my ports of call during a less-than-direct route was Jervaulx Abbey – geocaching-related diversions, of course! It’s the largest privately owned Cistercian Abbey in the country. I enjoyed a wander around the grounds and a very welcome cup of tea in the tearoom! I thought this would make a good shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #13 – Ancient.

Day #3586Title: Pine Decay
Location: East Cramlington, North Tyneside
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I had a bit of a soggy walk today around some footpaths on open access land near East Cramlington. The rain held off but it was very boggy underfoot in places! I did manage to spot this detail which was perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #47 – Pine Cones.
